Details

Evolving from its introduction in the early 2000s, the Manix 2 is a more compact Maxix perfect for everyday carry offering full size knife performance. At the heart of the Manix is Spyderco's exceptional strong and ambidextrous Ball Bearing Lock paired with trademark RoundHole opener for a safe, solid, and easy to operate high performance cutting tool. This Lightweight version comes with a black DLC coated CTS-BD1N blade, black FRCP handles and CQI black Torx hardware.

CQI: User adjustable Black Torx hardware.

Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives.

Blade: Fully flat ground the broad BD1N leaf blade comes with a durable black DLC for discreet use and enhanced corrosion resistance. The leaf blade offers geometry, piercing capability and durability with a razor sharp plain cutting edge and easy ambidextrous operation via the RoundHole. Rugged phosphor bronze washers and Ball Bearing Lock detent delivers excellent action. Jimping on the thumb ramp and index choil provide enhanced safety and control in use.

Handle: Black Bi-Directional textured FRCP (fiberglass reinforced co-polymer) handles house the rock solid Ball Bearing Lock mechanism and blade pairing with subtle jimping and finger grooves for a secure, ergonomic grip. Lock operation is simple, pull back the polymer cage with to disengage for one-hand open or close. A large lanyard hole and black Torx hardware round out the construction.

Carries via a reversible stainless steel wire clip.

Ball Bearing Lock: One of Spyderco's strongest, smoothest operating lock mechanisms, the Ball Bearing Lock consists of a hardened steel ball bearing housed in a polymer cage. When the knife is opened a spring plunger drives the ball bearing forward onto a ramp on the blade, wedging it securely open. Pulling back on the cage releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Operating the knife is easily performed with either hand without placing your fingers near the blade’s edge.

CTS-BD1N: BD1N a modified version of Carpenter CTS-BD1 stainless steel with higher alloy content including nitrogen for higher working hardness (up to 63 HRC). This is a fine-grained steel with high toughness and excellent corrosion resistance (near M390). Better edge stability allows for a finer edge and enhanced cutting performance. Moderate wear resistance.
