Having gone through many changes and iterations since its introduction in the early 2000s, the Manix 2 is a more compact Manix that is perfect for everyday carry while still offering full size performance. Spyderco's Ball Bearing Lock mechanism is the heart of the Manix, exceptional strong, smooth, and fully ambidextrous with safe operation allowing the knife to be closed without placing your fingers in the blade path. This limited Sprint Run comes with Earth Brown G10 handle scales and a plain edge stonewashed CPM 15V tool steel blade with optimized heat treat developed by custom maker Shawn Houston aka (Big Brown Bear/Deadboxhero) of Triple B Handmade.

Blade: A iconic, broad leaf shaped blade is delivered in fully flat ground, tumbled CPM-15V with an optimized heat treatment for exceptional wear resistance and extremely high edge retention offering extensive use between sharpening. A large, 14 mm RoundHole provides easy ambidextrous deployment on a smooth, phosphor bronze washer pivot with excellent action thanks to the Ball Bearing Lock detent. The jimped thumb ramp and index finger choil provide optimal safety and control during use.

Handle: Skeletonized stainless steel liners support textured G10 scales which pair with strategic jimping and superior ergonomics for a secure and comfortable grip. The rock solid Ball Bearing Lock is smooth, solid, and fully ambidextrous, see more below. A generously large hollow tube is provided for lanyard attachment.

Ball Bearing Lock: One of Spyderco's strongest, smoothest operating lock mechanisms, the Ball Bearing Lock consists of a hardened steel ball bearing housed in a polymer cage. When the knife is opened a spring plunger drives the ball bearing forward onto a ramp on the blade, wedging it securely open. Pulling back on the cage releases the lock and allows the blade to pivot smoothly closed. Operating the knife is easily performed with either hand without placing your fingers near the blade’s edge.

CPM-15V: This non-stainless tool steel provides exceptional wear resistance outpaced only by exotic steels like Z-Max, Maxamet, and Rex 121. It has high hardness (up to 65HRC) and top end edge retention. Diamond or CBN is a must for sharpening. High carbide content reduces toughness which is equal or better compared to M390 or S110V.
