Spyderco Native 5 CPM S90V and Fluted Carbon Fiber C41CFFP5
Thanks to popular demand Spyderco has released the first in their Signature Series, the Native 5 in CPM S90V with a fluted carbon fiber handle. A more practical version of the 40th Anniversary limited edition run, this knife is sure to be a popular, high performance EDC folder.
The Blade: The blade is made from S90V with a full flat grind and upper swedge delivering exceptional slicing and piercing performance. Dual jimping along the choil and thumb areas provides a high level of control and security. Of course no Spyderco would be complete without the round hole opener and a razor sharp edge, both present on this knife.
The Handle: A striking carbon fiber handle with liner-less construction was used on this knife. Spyderco textured a bold fluted pattern milled into the surface and gave it an amibidextrous four way clip attached for pocket carry. It's lightweight, balanced and locks up true via the confident back lock for controlled cutting.
About CPM S90V: CPM S90V is a unique tool steel made by the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process. This is a high Vanadium content steel delivering high wear resistance with corrosion resistance equal to or better than 440C. Due to the high Vanadium content/high wear resistance it may be more difficult to sharpen without the aid of diamond abrasives.
