Blade: A classic, flat ground spear point profile is executed with a subtle upper swedge for all-around utility. Flat ground for slicing performance, the blade has a fine satin finish with Jimping on the spine and index choil for optimal traction in the hand. Generously sized to accommodate larger hands, the familiar, ambidextrous Spyderco Round Hole opener is simple and easy to use. CPM Rex 45 High speed tool steel delivers high end performance but will require care to prevent corrosion.

Handle: Lightweight, durable and weatherproof Burnt Orange G10 composite strikes a good balance between weight and durability with built-in peel ply texture for traction in the hand. Reliable and built for serious use in mind the Native 5 is equipped with Spyderco's beefy mid-back lock that is smooth to operate, ambidextrous and rock solid. Thick enough for good rigidity, this Native 5 does without steel liners for reduced weight without compromising strength.

CPM Rex 45: CPM REX 45 (Hitachi HAP40) is a super-high-speed particle metallurgy tool steel enriched with large volumes of cobalt, tungsten, molybdenum and vanadium. Its high cobalt content increases the attainable hardness and enhances the positive properties other elements. The addition of vanadium promotes the formation of vanadium carbides, which provide high wear resistance, fine grain size, and increased toughness.
