Details
The Spyderco Opus is a perfect blend of Spyderco concept and German style. Designed by noteable German knifemaker Ulrich Hennicke, known for the now discontinued Spyderco Ulize, the Opus is a mid-sized, functional folder that can be applied to both utilitarian and defensive tasks. This Opus is truly "cutting edge" work of art.
The Blade: A classic, full-length clip point blade made from fully flat ground CPM S30V provides superior cutting performance in both slicing and piercing tasks. S30V offers a good blend of corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and relative toughness. An over-sized Spyderco Round Hole™ allows for easy ambidextrous opening even while wearing gloves.
The Handle: The advanced, ergonomically designed handle is made from tough, lightweight and nearly impervious Black G10 (industrial fiber glass composite laminate) scales attached to fully skeletonized stainless steel liners. Combined with an open back construction this creates a lightweight, easy to maintain folder that doesn't sacrifice overall strength. The handle design lends itself to a variety of grips and provides unrivaled comfort and control during prolonged use. One liner forms a strong and simple Liner Lock mechanism which offers secure operation of the knife. The Opus carries via the classic, stainless steel, Spyderco 4-Position "Hour Glass" pocket clip which makes this knife fully ambidextrous.
