Eric and Sal Glesser designed the Spyderco Para 3 to meet demand for a more compact, sub-3” blade version of the popular USA-made ParaMilitary 2. A great size for EDC in the field or office, this compression lock folder is small but mighty, able to handle your daily cutting tasks with ease. The Lightweight version comes with contoured, high traction Bi-Directional textured FRN handles and a deep carry wire pocket clip. Our GPKNIVES Exclusive comes with high performance, satin-finished CPM REX 45 blade steel, easily customizable White FRN handles and silver hardware/clip.

Blade: Fully flat ground CPM REX 45 high-speed tool steel comes in an iconic straight spine clip point profile with a plain edge for clean slicing performance. The blade opens via the ambidextrous large trademark RoundHole riding smoothly on durable bronze washers. Jimping at the thumb rest and index finger choil allows for superb control for fine tasks.

Handle: Contoured, injection-molded white FRN handle scales house the blade and inset stainless liner that forms the Compression Lock mechanism. Fiberglass-Reinforced Nylon (FRN) reduces the weight by nearly 30 percent while retaining solid durability and weather resistance. The FRN is molded with contours for comfort, and Bi-Directional texturing for optimal traction even in the most adverse conditions.

Carries via a tip-up stainless steel wire clip.

CPM Rex 45: CPM Rex 45 (similar to Hitachi HAP40) is a super-high-speed, particle metallurgy tool steel similar to CPM-M4. Higher levels of cobalt and tungsten allow for higher hardness and better strength, improving edge stability for thinner, high performance edges. Toughness and corrosion resistance are comparable to CPM-M4.

Compression Lock: Similar in construction to the Walker Liner Lock, the Compression lock uses a leaf style spring cut into the handle liner. The tang of the spring wedges between the blade tang and stop pin (or anvil pin) for exceptional lock strength, ease of operation and added safety, keeping fingers clear of the blade path during disengagement closing of the knife.
