The Spyderco ParaMilitary 2 Compression Lock folder has become one of the world's most popular pocket knives. The Blade: A classic, long-clip point with a sweeping belly, the ParaMilitary 2 blade shape lends itself to both piercing and slicing tasks of all shapes and sizes. The blade is made from premium CPM S35VN, a fantastic, all-around, high performance stainless steel. The full flat grind enhances cutting performance while the utilitarian straight plain edge is perfect for daily tasks. The over-sized Spyderco Round Hole™ allows for easy ambidextrous opening even while wearing gloves.

The Handle: The scales are made from textured Brown G10, an industrial fiber glass composite laminate, which is tough, lightweight and nearly impervious to decomposition and moisture. The scales are attached to nested and skeletonized stainless steel liners which help to reduce weight while maintaining a high level of strength. One liner forms the high strength Compression Lock mechanism which is easy to operate with either hand and has an exceptional strength to weight ratio. The Para Military 2 carries via the classic, stainless steel, Spyderco 4-Position "Hour Glass" pocket clip which makes this knife fully ambidextrous.

CPM S35VN was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
