This Sprint Run is a rendition of a discontinued design, the Perrin PPT. This knife features a blade of CPM-S90V and full Carbon Fiber handle scales while maintaining the original design execution.

It's not uncommon these days for manufacturers to team up with a custom maker, but rarely do they team up with three. In the case of the PPT French Knife makers Fred Perrin, Philippe Perotti and Sacha Thiel have collaborated to come up with this great ergonomic design. Blade: The practical Wharncliffe shaped blade is made from flat ground CPM-S90V for exceptional edge retention. The clipped point of the blade excels at piercing tasks and enhances performance for fine work. The blade has jimping along the spine for added grip can comfort. Opens via a generous SpyderHole.

Handle: 3D textured full Carbon Fiber scales and hybrid frame lock are combined in a seamless execution of form and function. The carbon fiber reduces weight without sacrificing strength while the steel hybrid frame lock provides smooth operation and dependable lockup. A right-hand, tip-up deep carry clip delivers secure, low profile carry in the pocket.

About Fred Perrin: We had the privilege of setting up across from Fred at the Blade show for a few years, and were always intrigued by the diverse array of knives and even jewelry he crafts. A former French Army Commando and world-vetted Tae Kwon Do and stick fighting champion, Fred is extremely well versed in self defense. He now works as a writer, martial arts instructor and professional knife maker.

About Sprint Runs: Each year Spyderco releases a limited number of Sprint run knives, with a variation on an established model.
