Spyderco Founder Sal Glesser designed the Respect as his personal interpretation of the classic American Bowie Knife. This substantial fixed blade truly captures the spirit of the iconic American Bowie while offering the performance of modern construction and materials. A massive clip point blade made from CPM 154 is balanced with a two-piece, contoured G10 handle and brushed stainless steel guard. The Blade: Made from beefy, 0.30" thick CPM 154 the traditional Clip Point of the American Bowie is executed in typical Spyderco fashion with a full flat grind and distal taper for speed and balance in the hand. The long swedge terminates in a wickedly sharp point. The large choil area in front of the guard allows for the use of "old-school" Bowie tactics while still delivering 7" of razor sharp cutting edge.

The Handle: A hidden tang construction is achieved via a two-part G10 handle construction that gives the Respect a classic look while offer the enhanced performance of the more modern G10. The handles are contoured for comfort with a 'Birds Beak' pommel that offers enhanced control and leverage. A brushed stainless steel double guard draws the boundary between the razor sharp edge and the smooth, contoured handle.

Sheath: The leather belt sheath retains some traditional elements with its brass frog and retention strap closure.

CPM-154 Steel: Using Crucible's Particle Metallurgy process CPM-154 takes the same chemical composition of 154CM and produces it with a finer carbide structure. What does this mean? CPM 154 is going to be tougher, take a finer edge and have a slight increase in corrosion resistance. Wear resistance has been compared to CPM S30V.
