Details

Originally designed to meet post-9/11 TSA regulations that would allow certain knives on airplanes, the Spyderco Roadie is a highly functional, two-handed opening, non-locking pocketknife. While those regulations were subsequently withdrawn, the Roadie is still an exceptionally ergonomic design that is perfect for everyday carry for restrictive environments or as a companion to a larger blade. This version comes with a flat ground, Sheepsfoot blade of Bohler N690Co and a smooth brown FRN handle.

Brand new, direct from Spyderco Knives, Italy.

Blade: This modern penknife is a practical and user-friendly slip joint with a distinguishing Double Dent opener that is superior to a traditional nail nick in that it does not collect dirt or debris and offers better ease of opening. Pinch grip the symmetrical dimples in the blade for a solid purchase when opening the wide Sheepsfoot profile blade. N690Co stainless steel is fully flat ground creating incredible edge geometry for a scalpel-sharp edge while being robust at the tip. Spine and finger choil are jimped for traction preventing unintentional closure during use and giving exceptional control during use. The notched half stop makes opening easier with a stronger bias against closure for added safety.

Handle: Injection-molded FRN scales are contoured for comfort and feature an embossed Spyderco “bug” logo on both sides. Simple and minimal in design, the Roadie is surprisingly ergonomic and secure in the hand thanks to the subtle taper of the handle paired with jimping on the choil and spine. A generous hole if provided for lanyard attachment while the full length stainless steel back spring enhances the structural strength and connects the FRN handle scales.

This knife has no clip. Carries easily in a pocket or bag.

Bohler N690Co: N690Co is a high quality stainless steel with performance similar to Japanese VG-10 with high level corrosion resistance, good edge retention and ease of sharpening. Co stands for cobalt, added to enhance some performance elements.
