The Spyderco SmallFly put a new spin on the classic balisong or Filipino butterfly knife. Now it is back and better than ever in the SmallFly 2. Handle construction is similar with skeletonized stainless liners and G10 handle scales in a tradition-bucking Spyderco design along with a more utilitarian drop point blade. This limited distributor exclusive comes with a satin finished, CPM CRU-WEAR blade and gray G10 handle scales.

Blade: A classic drop point blade of high performance, satin finished CPM CRU-WEAR comes with a full flat grind delivering excellent slicing and piercing capability. Operation is smooth thanks to robust bronze washers at the pivots. Deployment is in traditional butterfly fashion at whatever speed is comfortable for the user. Squeeze the handle to release the spring latch and the knife is ready for use.

Handle: Skeletonized stainless steel liners support peel-ply textured gray G10 handle scales for a well-balanced handle that is both comfortable and secure, capable of flipping or utility work. Subtle finger grooves and hole milling enhance security in the grip while allowing for fast transitions in the hand. The stainless latch is spring-loaded to prevent interference when operating the knife. Stainless steel Torx hardware rounds out the construction.

Carries via a 4-position, tip-up wire clip.

CPM-CruWear: A PM tool steel with toughness approaching that of CPM-3V and edge retention comparable to CPM S30V/S35VN. High chromium content makes it semi-stainless, with corrosion resistance at or above that of D2. High toughness and hardness allows for a thinner edge and better performance.
