A stalwart of the Spyderco budget line, the ever popular Tenacious is now being produced in a lightweight FRN version. Even though it's one of the least expensive models from Spyderco, a lot of effort was made to keep the value high. The lightweight FRN version reduces the knife by 10% while maintaining the same functional and ergonomic design and liner lock construction. This premium version comes with blue FRN handle scales and a satin finished, partially serrated, American CPM-S35VN stainless steel blade.

Blade: A trademark leaf shaped blade with Spyderco RoundHole allows for easy deployment on phosphor bronze washers and is flat ground for superior slicing ability. Made of American CPM-S35VN stainless steel the satin finished blade offers enhanced performance in edge retention, corrosion resistance, and toughness. A partially serrated cutting edge offers a combination of clean slicing plain edge at the front and SpyderEdge serrations near the handle to make short work of tough, fibrous materials. The blade rises above the handle when deployed and makes a natural thumb ramp with aggressive jimping for added control.

Handle: An open back construction with stainless steel spacers allows for easy cleaning and maintenance. Skeletonized stainless steel liners support lightweight, durable and weather resistant fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) scales attached with Torx screws. The FRN scales are molded with Spyderco's Bi-Directional texturing offering unparalleled traction for security during use in the most adverse conditions. The front scale has a relief cutout in the handle for access to a jimped liner lock for easy operation and added security in the hand. A generous hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Carries via a four position stainless steel pocket clip for ambidextrous carry.

CPM-S35VN: A modified version of S30V designed for improved toughness over and easier machining and polish. Toughness is improved roughly 15-20%, with a slight decrease in wear resistance (edge retention). Corrosion resistance is also lightly higher, close to AISI 420. S35VN is a well-balanced steel for daily use.
