The Tidioute #97 Allegheny Pattern Large Coke Clip Point from Great Eastern is the Bowie Knife of traditional folders. The robust Clip Point blade delivers plenty of cutting edge and a fine point for all your every day tasks while the "Coke Bottle" handle shape is classic in form and function. This version comes with Nickel Silver bolsters, Tidioute Shield and Autumn Gold Jigged Bone covers with an "Allegheny Belle Riviere" blade etch. This one is marked with the "PPP" distinction on the back of the blade for "Pattern Production Premiere".

Blade: Just over three and a quarter inches of cutting edge for this fellow. The full flat grind is complimented with a swedged clip point and vertical satin finish. Its long pull groove is perfectly placed for you to pull to a half stop before full deployment. Built from hard-working 1095 USA high carbon steel. Cared is required to prevent corrosion or allow a natural patina to form for a unique look, either way the blade sharpens nicely. "Allegheny Belle Rivière" is etched on the front of the blade with the PPP logo on the back.

Handle: Construction of this beefy piece is reminiscent of a classic glass soda bottle with back spring, brass liners and pins. Carefully rounded and smooth, this one is dressed in Autumn Gold Jigged Bone that is sure to please. Polished nickel silver finishes out the construction in style with dual bolsters and Tidioute shield.

Each #97 arrives inside its shipping tube, wrapped in wax paper with company info on the front.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
