TOPS Hornero Tan/Black Canvas Micarta Black 1095 EDC Fixed Blade HORN-01

Designed by Argentinian Tomás Reynoso, the TOPS Hornero is named after the national bird of his country. This capable slicer delivers a compact, robust EDC fixed blade with a full size handle for serious use and is able to handle almost any task. The knife carries easily while sporting a beefy 3/16" thick modified Sheepsfoot blade that is durable and versatile for any number of cutting tasks. This version comes with a Black Traction coated 1095 carbon steel blades and tan canvas Micarta handle scales with black Micarta bolsters.

Blade: At 2.75 inches the modified Sheepsfoot blade is highly efficient with a longer cutting edge and sweeping belly. A high saber grind balances slicing quality with durability while the spine swedge and deep thumb scoop allow respectable piercing performance and leverage for powerful cuts. Black traction coating is durable, non-reflective and enhances corrosion resistance on the carbon steel.

Handle: Subtly contoured tan canvas Micarta scales come paired with complementary red liners and inlaid black Micarta bolsters for a vintage look. A palm swell and index cutout make for a comfortable and secure grip, with the rugged Micarta offering traction even when wet. Black stainless steel hardware and a large flared brass lanyard tube securely attach the scales.

Sheath: Carries via a black Kydex sheath with removable 2" belt loop.

1095 Cro-Van: A simple, extensively used carbon steel with low edge retention and corrosion resistance. Easy to sharpen to a fine edge, 1095 can be differentially heat treated for better performance. Cro-Van indicates added alloying elements that improve wear resistance and toughness.
