TOPS BAJA 4.5 Black River Wash 1095 Green Canvas Micarta Fixed Blade

A marriage of clean, simple design and high tolerance execution makes the Baja 4.5 from TOPS tough enough to rely on, even in the extreme region from which it takes its name. The 4.5 inch, full tang, 1095 carbon steel construction and canvas Micarta scales provide proven performance. This version comes with a Black River Wash finish and green Micarta scales.

Blade: Made from TOPS differentially heat treated 1095 carbon steel, the flat ground drop point blade offers good slicing and piercing performance balanced with the durability of the 4 mm blade. Equipped with the TOPS Black River Wash finish the knife is discreet in use. Jimping on the spine delivers traction which pairs well with the index guard for added security in use.

Handle: All-weather canvas Micarta handle slabs offer traction even when wet with solid durability and a great feel in the hand. The slabs are contoured for comfort during extended cutting tasks and milled with grooves for added traction and divots for use with a bow drill. A hollow pin is provided for lanyard attachment. Includes a Ferro rod which fits in a holder on the sheath.

Sheath: Carries via a double-stitched leather belt sheath with drop loop.

1095 High Carbon Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS offers their 1095 with a differential heat treatment that optimized blade performance at the edge and durability at the spine.
