TOPS El Chete Chopper Midnight Bronze 1095 Canvas Micarta Spring Clip Fixed Blade ELCH-03

The El Chete chopper from TOPS Knives was built to demolish. Period. End of story. This blade is massive with a super thick blade that delivers cutting power comparable to a hatchet or small axe. Such a blade requires a fitting handle and the dual layered canvas Micarta will fill the hand and look good doing in the process. This version comes with a blade of Midnight Bronze Cerakote coated 1095 carbon steel with green and black Micarta scales and Kydex sheath with metal spring clip.

Blade: With nearly a foot of raw slicing, chopping and destructive power the Sheepsfoot profile blade comes in with plenty of heft thanks to the quarter inch thick 1095 carbon steel construction. The long, up swept edge makes quick work of anything in its path while the subtle point is enough for general piercing. A durable and non-reflective Midnight Bronze Cerakote coating gives the carbon steel blade enhanced corrosion resistance and looks great. 

Handle: The huge handle consists of rounded slabs of black and green canvas Micarta sandwiched together with red fiber liner through the center. A large choil provides plenty of control in the forward grip with an integral guard to keep fingers clear of the edge. Each side of the handle features a bow drill divot for primitive fire starting while the coarse Micarta provides solid traction even when wet. Two lanyard holes at the end of the extended pommel provide the option for added security.

Sheath: Includes a Kydex sheath with rotating metal spring clip.

1095 Carbon Steel: A popular, simple carbon steel, 1095 is used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear resistance and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS utilizes a differential heat treat process which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine.
