Details

Designed by Paul Ehlers, Max The Mini Axe is a great tool for when you need something with the capability of an ax that consumes the smallest space possible. MAX can do the job of an ax or hatchet, while also doing the things you could with a smaller knife. An interesting tool for the men that don't fit in. Made from Black Traction coated 1095 carbon steel with Black Linen Micarta handles.

Brand new, direct from TOPS Knives, USA.

Head: Dual saber ground cutting edges and a spike pole make this an effective tool however you swing it. The downward angled forward edge enhances chopping performance of this compact axe. Jimping at the spine enhances traction for leverage in controlled work while the non-reflective Black Traction coating adds some corrosion resistance to the 1/4 inch thick 1095 carbon steel head and tang.

Handle: Iconic TOPS Black Linen Micarta handle scales over contrasting white liners are attached to the beefy full tang to form the handle. Comfortably contoured, the handle provides a variety of grip positions for controlled, fine work or maximum leverage for chopping. Micarta is durable and weather resistant, providing traction even when wet. A hollow tube at the pommel allows for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a custom molded Kydex sheath with rotating metal spring clip.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. TOPS uses a differential heat treat that provides a harder edge with a tougher spine for optimal performance.
