TOPS Knives SXB Camo Skullcrusher's Xtreme Blade by EJ Snyder

The TOPS Skullcrusher's Xtreme Blade, or SXB for short, was designed by the well-known survivalist EJ Snyder.  EJ is best known for his three appearances on the popular Discovery Channel TV series, Naked and Afraid, but his list of previous accomplishments is vast (to say the least).  While in recent years Snyder has focused on survival with an emphasis on military and self-reliance, his interest was sparked during his 25 year stint serving in the US Army where he was an Army Sergeant Major (E-9) and decorated combat veteran of the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  Nicknamed the "Skullcrusher" during this time, EJ was described as ready and willing to lead the mission... any mission.  TOPS edged weapons history combined with EJ's extensive study and utilization of military and survival skills makes the SXB a true beast of a survival knife. This version comes with TOPS' Camouflage blade finish.

Blade: The TOPS SXB starts out with a beefy one-quarter inch full tang of 1095 tool steel that has been given TOPS' Camo finish, a combination of stonewashed and black traction coated with a clear Cerakote on top to protect the carbon steel from environmental corrosion. The blade is a deep-bellied drop point which curves back toward the handle and becomes straight allowing for everything from chopping and batoning to skinning and slicing while an aggressive saw-tooth spine can tackle even larger cutting tasks.  Dual integral guard and Skullcrasher butt cap compliment the tang while also serving their own specific duties.

Handle: Two slabs of black Micarta form the handle and feature TOPS Rocky Mountain Tread pattern for additional purchase.  Micarta is impervious to things such as extreme heat and cold and has a grip that improves when wet making it an ideal material for a survival knife handle.  The handle also features a bow drill divot on both sides for assistance in making primitive type fires.  

Sheath: Includes a heavy duty nylon sheath with kydex insert.  Sheath is fully MOLLE/PALS compatible and has front buckle storage pocket.

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
