The TOPS Knives Tanimboca Puukko is a modern interpretation of the timeless Scandinavian Puukko knife built in collaboration with custom knife maker Goran Mihajlovic. TOPS has executed the design in their typical, robust fashion without sacrificing the cutting performance users have come to know and love in the Puukko. A full tang construction and Rocky Mountain Tread textured Canvas Micarta handles increase durability while the clean lines and leather sheath are in keeping with the traditional design. This knife is sure to be a favorite among bushcrafters, woodworkers and general outdoor enthusiasts.

The Blade: Made from tough 1095 High Carbon Tool Steel the Tanimboca Puukko sports a Scandinavian grind that is modified with a small, convex micro bevel. This blade grind delivers exceptional control for fine work and powerful cuts with added durability at the edge thanks to the convex micro bevel. The 1/8" thickness on the full tang blade makes provides a good combination of cutting performance and toughness delivering a cutting tool that can make fine feather stick or baton kindling with ease. A long subtle clip running the length of the blade gives a more acute point that works great for making fire board divots. 

The Handle: The handle of the Tanimboca Puukko has a handle made of contoured and tapered Tan Canvas Micarta. The handle is simple and comfortable in almost any grip keeping with the traditional design with the Rocky Mountain Tread texture increasing security in the hand. The canvas Micarta provides a secure grip even when wet and is exceptionally durable. The handle is attached with dual hollow brass pins and two brass Philips screws. The handle also features red liners for some color and a bow drill fire divot on both sides.

Sheath: The high quality leather sheath delivers secure deep carry on the belt or, paired with a breakaway chain or paracord, can be worn as a neck knife.  

1095 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
