A new Military Sprint Run from Spyderco Knives dressed in Peel-Ply textured Carbon Fiber and outfitted with an extremely tough 52100 tool steel blade. This version is a Limited Edition offering high performance and a lasting collector's value.

The Blade: Flat ground and satin finished deep hardening, super tough tool steel best known for its use in ball and roller bearings. 52100 is prized for its toughness, wear resistance and strength. It is not a stainless steel and must be properly maintained to prevent corrosion. Traditional ambidextrous thumb hole opener with light jimping on the back and small choil. Over 3.5 inches of razor sharp cutting edge on the Military.

The Handle: Carbon Fiber handle scales feature Spyderco's unique Peel-Ply texturing adding grip to this lightweight, yet incredibly strong material. Nested in the scales are skeletonized stainless steel liners create the foundation of the strong LinerLock mechanism and anchor its pocket clip. Open standoffs construction create easy maintenance along with a generously sized lined lanyard hole.

About 52100 Tool Steel: A high carbon steel (0.98-1.10) used primarily for ball bearings. Ball bearing steels traditionally have to withstand a great deal of force in a very small area. They make good edge steels because an edge also has to withstand much force in a small area. A very fine molecular structure permits very sharp edges, even at thin angles. It's similar to 5160, less tough but holds an edge better.
