Strider SMF Hybrid CC Black G10 Flamed Flat Frame PSF-27 Tigerstripe Blade

The Strider Knives SMF Hybrid CC/Lego Black G10 is a considerably sized, aggressively overbuilt and dependable hard use folder.  Not for the faint of heart and not dainty, the SMF is the largest of the Strider production folders offering an exceptional grip to large and gloved hands.  Built with G10 and titanium handle construction for harsh environments and bronze washer pivot to handle dirt/sand better than ball bearings.

The Blade: With a thick PSF-27 blade, there's not much the SMF can't handle. This model comes with a standard flat ground spear point blade which has been tigerstriped for a non-reflective finish. These feature a deep jimping on the top of the blade ensuring a secure grip during use. Each knife comes with a hair popping edge and is ready to go out of the package.

The Handle: Like most of their folders, the SMF has a combination G10 and Titanium frame. What makes it slightly different from everyone else is that the backspacer, traditionally a seperate piece on most production knives, is instead integral to the front scale. This Hybrid version offers a CC contoured front scale witih a flat titanium lockside.  

Keeping with the hard use concept, Strider used bronze washers and a chain ring bolt construction to secure the blade. Also incorporated is the Hinderer lock bar stabilizer, which prevents the user from overextending the frame. This version comes with a black G10 scale in the concealed carry configuration, with black oxide hardware and flame anodized lock side. A heavy duty flame anodized titanium clip is affixed for every day carry.

About PSF-27 Steel: Tool steel alloy uses the Spray Forming Process resulting in improved wear resistance, toughness, crack resistance and higher hardness.The result is D2 with better edge holding and toughness than cast D2.
