Details
The Harpoon F17 by Andre de Villiers is the new boss in mid-tech tactical knives. This is a big, bad folder not for the timid or small of hand. It comes in at nearly nine inches overall with plenty of overbuilt toughness its operator may require.
Brand new item directly from ADV Tactical and Mr. Andre de Villiers.
The Blade: The latest F17 is built from hard-nosed D2 tool steel in a big sweeping drop point with characteristic upper harpoon swedge grind. This thing is thick, dark black stonewashed and given an aggressively notched thumb ramp with plenty of real estate for even the largest of gloved hands. It's flat ground for clean cut slicing with a grooved fuller on either side. The cutting edge is insanely sharp, wicked cool looking and offers its user over 3.5 inches to work with. It deploys via an ambidextrous notched flipper tab while gliding smoothly on an internal roller bearings pivot system. Easy to use, there when you need it and powerful.
The Handle: Two monster chunks of titanium have great finger ergonomics creating a comfortable grip and the same black stonewash finish as the blade. It's assembled using silver hardware and a matte grey titanium backstrap for strength. The frame lock up is solid, early and includes a steel insert/overtravel preventor for smooth lockbar operation.
Attached to the Harpoon F17 is a milled Titanium roller clip for tip up carry. The roller pin creates smooth transitioning in and out of the pocket.
