Arcform Slimfoot Titanium Frame Lock Flipper Carbon Fiber Inlay

The flagship Slimfoot model from Arcform Knives is a strong start for the company. A design collaboration with Geoff Blauvelt (Tuffknives) produced by Reate, the Slimfoot has a fantastic level of fit and finish. The knife has a utilitarian design that doesn't sacrifice any style and a high-level attention to detail that gives this a custom-level feel. This beefy flipper is just the beginning for Arcform and what a good beginning it is.

The Blade: The Sheepsfoot blade is made from American CPM S35VN for exceptional wear and corrosion resistance with enhanced toughness. This toughness is enhanced by the thick blade stock and will help the high-height hollow grind slice remarkably well with reduced chance of chipping or rolling of the edge. A full length fuller on each side of the blade reduced weigh and helps with balance while the ceramic bearing pivot delivers smooth, fast flipper deployment. Satin finish on the flats contrasts nicely with the wear-hiding stonewash on the grinds for a stylish look.

The Handle: Made from 6AL4V Titanium the Slimfoot's handle is elegantly simple. It is contoured and chamfered for comfort in use and features a deep index cutout for a secure grip. One side forms a robust titanium frame lock with steel lock face insert for smooth, solid lock up. It also has a single position, 3D milled, titanium pocket clip (tip-up, right hand). On the is an inlay of beautiful Carbon Fiber held in place by two black Torx screws for a dash of class. The milled and textured titanium backspacer is another fine piece of detail work. Simple, functional, and beautiful.

CPM S35VN was designed to offer improved toughness over CPM S30V. It is also easier to machine and polish than CPM S30V. The inclusion of Niobium allows for the formation of niobium carbides along with vanadium and chromium carbides. Substituting niobium carbides for some of the vanadium carbides makes CPM S35VN about 15-20% tougher than CPM S30V without any loss of wear resistance. CPM S35VN’s improved toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping.
