Blade: The blades of the Griptilian series were designed to excel at everyday cutting tasks while keeping enough in the tank to handle the worst scenarios. The 551 comes with a satin/tumble finished Drop Point blade and dual thumb stud opener. Made from CPM-S30V with a mid-height saber grind you get a great combination of toughness, edge retention and low-maintenance stainless properties with enhanced performance over 154CM. The top swedge of the drop point deliver excellent piercing capabilities.

Handle: Black Grivory handles house the strong and ambidextrous AXIS lock mechanism with partial steel liners for durability. The handles are diamond textured and contoured for a secure and comfortable grip in any position. Grivory is a polymer resin that is tough, lightweight and resistant to heat, cold, water and chemicals for a truly hard use cutting tool.

Carries via a reversible, tip-up, black coated stainless steel pocket clip.

CPM-S30V: A martensitic, powdered stainless steel with high levels of wear and corrosion resistance. Its chemistry promotes the formation and even distribution of vanadium carbides, which are harder and more effective at cutting than chromium carbides. This gives it a very refined grain, further improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with high levels of performance.
