Benchmade 818GY-1901 Mini Loco Limited Edition Python Micarta Smoke Gray 20CV

Benchmade wanted to incorporate a more edgy, aggressive look into their line-up with the 808 Loco. The 818 Mini Loco modifies this design into a more EDC friendly platform with the same hard use concept. This stout, hard use EDC folder is now available in a Limited Edition production with Python Micarta handle scales over coated stainless liners and a Smoke Gray PVD coated CPM-20CV blade.

Blade:The modified Sheepsfoot blade gives you a good combination of slicing and piercing performance and thanks to the high height saber grind still retains plenty of thickness for strength. The Smoke Gray PVD finish enhances corrosion resistance and helps this Mini Loco keep a low profile. The knife opens smoothly on phosphor bronze washers via the ambidextrous oval thumb hole.

Handle:Thick, coated steel liners support both the beefy Python Micarta scales and the AXIS lock mechanism and make the Mini Loco a rock solid folder. An open back construction and milled liners reduces weight and make for easy cleaning and maintenance. An oversize lanyard hole allows you to add your own personal touch to this tank-like EDC folder.

Carries via a reversible (tip-up), Gray PVD coated stainless steel deep carry clip.

CPM 20CV: CPM 20CV is a highly wear resistant, powder metallurgy stainless tool steel, an analog to Bohler's M390, and offers some of the best corrosion resistance and wear resistance in combination with a relative ease of sharpening. These properties along with a working hardness in the low 60s HRC make 20CV a prime choice among custom and production makers.
