The Benchmade Hunt Series 15006 Steep Country is a versatile, all-season, hunting knife with improvements based on in-field feedback. The full tang CPM-S30V stainless steel blade has a wear hiding stonewashed finish and flat ground, drop point profile that excels at processing game big and small. The Steep Country can also function as a lightweight hiking and camping knife, handling a variety of field and campsite tasks. A high visibility orange Santoprene handle offers modern performance and comfort with the added benefit of being easy to find. Improvements included adjusted jimping location, enhanced ergonomics and blade profile and an updated sheath design for enhanced retention.

Blade: Stonewashed CPM-S30V is delivered in a utilitarian drop point profile with a full flat grind and sweeping belly that is excellent for skinning and game processing as well as general outdoor cutting tasks. The flat grind has excellent slicing ability especially for fine work with a thinner stock for even betting cutting performance. A small choil makes for easy sharpening of the full plain edge. Two sections of jimping on the spine provide added traction: the rear section for the thumb in a saber grip and the forward for the index finger in a pinch grip.

Handle: High visibility Santoprene, a rubber like polymer, are durable, weather resistant and high traction for a secure grip in the most adverse conditions. Molded onto the full tang blade, the handle is contoured for comfort and ergonomic use with ramps down to the blade for added comfort in a forward pinch grip and diamond texturing and jimping for even better traction. Wide jimping on the spine also provides traction while a hole at the pommel provides a lanyard attachment point for added security.

Sheath: Carries via a custom molded, orange and black Boltaron polymer sheath.

CPM-S30V: A powdered stainless steel with high levels of edge retention and corrosion resistance S30V was developed specifically for use in knife blades. The powdered process gives it a very refined grain, improving the sharpness and toughness. S30V is a great, all around steel with balanced performance.
