One way to look at the Boker Plus Ocelot, designed by maker Boris Manasherov, is as the smaller cousin to his Wildcat Flipper. The Ocelot replaces with wild and curvaceous recurve Tanto with a simple Hawkbill blade in black coated D2 steel, with matching steel liners and contoured Black G10 handle scales and a ball bearings pivot system.

Blade: The Hawkbill blade rides on a ball bearing pivot system and can be deployed with lightening speed with either the index flipper tab or the ridged blade hook. The hook can be used in two ways: use the ridges on the hook to open with the thumb similar to a thumb stud or blade hole or catch the hook on a pocket edge and open the blade as you draw it from the pocket. Which ever way you choose the action is buttery smooth. The black coated D2 is discreet and delivers a sub-3" blade that has powerful cutting performance especially with pull or cross cut draws.

Handle: 3D machined black G10 handle scales are sculpted and contoured to offer ultimate comfort while the design of the handle locks the knife in hand between the flipper tab guard and down turned end ring. The Karambit-like end ring allows the knife to be used in much the same way as classic ring knives and offers added security in use. The liner lock construction is smooth and reliable and black coated to match the discreet finish of the blade.

D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all around knife steel.
