Details

George W. Sears (1821-1890) was a conservationist, accomplished woodsman and writer for Forest and Stream magazine under the moniker Nessmuk. The knife he designed bares his name, the Nessmuk, and has been reimagined by Danish custom knife maker Jesper Voxnaes as the modern Boker Nessmi. Compact, lightweight and highly functional, the Nessmi retains the same iconic sweeping lines executed with precision modern production and materials. The Nessmi Black comes in a beautifully understated “blackout” colorway with contrasting copper pins.

Brand new, direct from Boker Knives.

Blade: The tall blade has the trademark up swept tip and full belly of a classic skinner and offers enough edge for a variety of tasks while being compact and easy to carry. Created by the sweep of the blade, the spine forms a natural thumb ramp with jimping for traction and control. The D2 blade gains corrosion resistance from the non-reflective black coating.

Handle: Hollow copper pins fix the contoured burlap Micarta scales to the full tang for a solid, comfortable handle. The wide blade affords space for a pinch grip for fine work and the generous handle has an index choil and pommel swell giving a secure grip for heavy use.

Carries via a high quality leather belt sheath.

D2 Tool Steel: Used as a die cutting steel since WW II, D2 offers a good combination of hardness and wear resistance with moderate toughness and stain resistance. High chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) gives D2 better corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels.
