The Boker Plus Warbird Aluminum is another design collaboration with maker Boris Manasherov and offers a large tactical folder that tips the scales at just over 5 ounces for a bit more heft than the original while still being light for carry. The blade is made from stonewashed D2 tool steel while the ergonomic, contoured handles are made from milled silver gray aluminum with a single steel liner lock construction.

Blade: The spear point, D2 tool steel blade rides smoothly on a ball bearing pivot and deploys via the oval blade hole or the streamline index flipper tab. A high height saber grind and full length top swedge deliver a blade that is durable while delivering solid slicing and piercing performance. Jimping at the spine provides added traction while the rugged stonewashed finish hides wear from use.

Handle: 3D machined Aluminum handle scales have been contoured for ultimate comfort while retaining a slim, pocket friendly design. There is a large cutout for the front fingers and machined texture which pair with jimping along the integral back spacer and spine of the blade for a secure grip in multiple positions. The ingenious single steel liner construction keeps weight down while delivering solid lock up that is secure and easy to operate thanks to the frame-lock-like steel plate that contacts the blade tang.

D2 Tool Steel: D2 is a cold work tool steel that has been used as a die cutting steel since WW II. D2 has a high chromium content for a tool steel (10-13%) which gives it greater corrosion resistance than most high carbon steels making it semi-stainless. D2 offers a good combination of toughness, corrosion resistance and wear resistance for a good all around knife steel.
