The iconic teardrop-shaped Barlow dates back to 17th-century English pocketknives, making it one of the world's oldest knife models. It is theorized that the knife got its name from the insightful Sheffield manufacturer who began exporting the sturdy knife to North America around 1800. It was popular from the start first appeared in the Boker line near the end of the 19th century.

The Barlow Prime is a new variation from Boker with shorter bolsters and a modern, N690 stainless steel blade as well as stainless bolsters and liners. This version comes with handsome, dark beech wood handle scales. A perfect everyday carry knife or an attractive addition to any collection.

Blade: Made of N690 stainless steel with quality Boker heat treat, the Barlow Prime is equipped with a drop point blade with a flat grind and upper swedge that offer a good balance of slicing and piercing performance with good durability. The blade opens via a long pull groove on a snappy back spring with good walk and talk and a full half stop for security.

Handle: Short, stainless steel bolsters top the rugged beech wood handle scales which are mounted to matching stainless liners with stainless pins for a durable, ergonomic handle that defines the Barlow pattern. This is a comfortable handle built for serious use while retaining a beautiful aesthetic. The front scale is embellished with the Boker Tree Brand Shield in silver. A stainless steel back spring delivers smooth, snappy, slip joint operation.

Bohler N690: N690 is a high quality stainless steel with performance similar to Japanese VG-10 with high level corrosion resistance, good edge retention and ease of sharpening.
