Details

The Buck 110 Folding Hunter Crossbar trades brass for aluminum bolsters machined into the frame and adds a crossbar lock. Macassar ebony scales sit in a dark gray frame, and the MagnaCut clip point is the very definition of general cutting and game work.

  • Ambidextrous Crossbar Lock - A spring-tensioned bar drops into the blade tang and holds the blade open. Thumb studs on both sides open it one handed, and pulling the bar back closes it without your fingers ever crossing the edge path. Same motion either hand.
  • Magnacut Blade Steel - Magnacut resists rust better than most premium steels and still holds a long edge. That combination suits wet field work like dressing game. Buck runs it through the in-house BOS heat treat and finishes the clip point blade in satin.
  • Ebony and Aluminum Frame - The bolsters are machined into the aluminum frame rather than pinned on in brass. That swap sheds a couple of ounces against the classic build without shrinking the handle. Genuine ebony inlays keep the 110 looking like a 110.
  • Black Pocket Clip - A blacked-out clip carries the knife in a pocket instead of on a belt sheath. That makes a full-size hunting folder easy to keep on you through a workday, not just on the days you plan around it.

The Buck 110 Folding Hunter

Al Buck built the 110 Folding Hunter in the 1960s for people who wanted fixed-blade strength without a sheath riding on their belt all day. What came out of it is a large folder with a clip point long enough for real field work and a lock stout enough to take the load. The design was copied so widely that the silhouette basically reads as shorthand for a folding knife. Today, this pattern still earns its keep at the end of a tailgate after a hunt, and essentially defines the legacy of Buck Knives
