Buck gives this 791 Range Elite the Trail Worn dress, stonewashing the MagnaCut blade and tumbling the black anodized aluminum handle. The full-size crossbar lock folder runs a flat saber grind on a drop point for general cutting.

• Stonewashed Magnacut Blade - Magnacut refuses rust better than most high-end steels and still sharpens without a fight, a rare pairing. The flat-ground drop point runs thin at the spine, and the stonewash finish swallows working marks.
• Ambidextrous Crossbar Lock - Pull the tabs on either side and the blade swings free, let go and the spring-loaded bar drops in behind the tang. Nothing about the motion favors a right hand or a left. Dual thumb studs open it one-handed without ever touching the lock.
• Tumbled Green Anodized Aluminum - Black anodizing goes on first, then the tumble beats the shine out of it, leaving a flat surface that looks like it has already seen a season of service. Contoured slabs over tumble-polished stainless liners keep the handle thin without softening it.
• Deep Carry Pocket Clip - The clip mounts tip-up on either side and rides low enough that only a strip of handle shows above the seam. At about the weight of a deck of cards, it lies flat against your leg instead of dragging the pocket down.

The steel still goes through the same Bos heat treatment as the rest of the line, ground and finished in Post Falls, Idaho.
