Details

A tool for Doctor's in a time when house calls were the routine, the Doctor's Knife is traditional pattern from the turn of the century and was designed to aid doctor's in crushing pills into a powder form using the flat, squared bolster. The medication could then be added to a capsule, dissolved in liquid or mixed with food using the spatula blade as a combination scoop and stirring spoon. This version comes with Smooth Natural Curly Oak covers and a polished Tru-Sharp stainless steel blade. This version does not have the classic spatula blade.

Brand new directly from W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.

Blade: The Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades are finished in a bright polish satin and equipped with generous nail nicks for opening. This version comes with a single Spear point blade with a shallow hollow grind for optimal slicing performance. They have left off the spatula "blade" leaving the knife thinner and lighter for carry.

Handle: Nickel Silver bolsters frame Smooth Natural Curly Oak covers, warm and rugged, fitted with brass pins to brass liners. A classic Oval Script Shield adorns the front. The flat, square bolster on the end of this knife is a defining feature of the Doctor's Knife pattern traditional used for crushing pills. A sturdy, stainless steel back spring offers simple, smooth slip joint operation for use.
