Case Trapper Rough Black Synthetic Slip Joint Folder 18221
The Case Trapper with rough black synthetic handles is a revival of a WWII era handle material known as "gum fuddy". This Trapper pattern features black synthetic handles with light jigging giving the knife a classic look and feel. The black synthetic handle is nearly indestructible and has been pinned to the brass liners of the knife with brass pins. You will also find the classic oval Case shield on the front side of the handle. The rough black handle scales are accented with nickel silver bolsters. Housed within the handle are two mirror polished tru-sharp stainless steel blades, a clip point and spey blade.
Brand new direct from W.R. Case & Sons, USA.
Blades: The standard Trapper pattern, this folder features a full-size clip point and spay blade both at the same end of the handle. Both blades are made from bright polished Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades with shallow hollow grinds and nail nick openers. The blades open smoothly from the closed position with a solid snap from the back spring keeping the blade secure and ready to use.
Handle: Rough Black Synthetic covers are rugged and low maintenance yet retain a timeless look and feel. Framed by nickel silvers bolsters the scales are attached to brass liners with brass pins in the traditional style and feature the case Oval Script shield on the front.
Case Tru-Sharp: Case Tru-Sharp is another name for 420HC, a stainless steel that provides excellent rust resistance, ease of re-sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With appropriate heat treatment it is said to preform similarly to VG-10 in wear resistance.
