Details
The Stockman is believed to be a scaled down version of the Cattleman pattern and shares similarities in the design. The Medium Stockman is the second largest of this pattern and comes with a main clip point blade and two auxiliary blades. This version comes with rugged Chestnut Jigged Bone covers and polished, carbon Chrome Vanadium blades.
Brand new directly from W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Co.
Blades: The Chrome Vanadium carbon steel blades are finished in a bright polish and are each equipped with a generous nail nick for opening. This version comes with the traditional Stockman Trio: a long clip point main blade, with a Pen and Sheepsfoot blade as backup. All three come with a shallow hollow grind for optimal slicing performance.
Handle: Polished Nickel Silver bolsters frame rugged, handsome Chestnut Jigged Bone covers that offer a comfortable and secure grip. The covers are fitted with brass pins to brass liners with the Case Oval Script shield. The sturdy back springs offer simple, smooth slip joint operation for use.
Case Chrome Vanadium: CV or Chrome Vanadium is Case Knives carbon steel offering. Based in simple carbon steel (1086 or 1095) with small amounts of Chrome and Vanadium added for grain refinement and better hardening response. CV steel has low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but is very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
