This Chris Reeve Nyala fixed blade knife is a prime example of a well-crafted hunting /skinning knife with all-around utility. The Nyala Insingo with Black Micarta has a modified Wharncliffe blade with a sweeping belly and fine swedge tip that offers superb slicing and piercing performance. Great size, balance and materials put the Nyala in the forefront of the outdoor/hunting knife category.
Blade: Composed of thick, premium S35VN stainless steel with full tang construction. The four inch blade features a high hollow grind with upper swedge creating precision cutting power. A nice worn-in stonewashed finish has a clean look. Thick jimping on the extended thumb ramp make sure you have ultimate control during precise cutting tasks such as skinning.
Handle: Black canvas Micarta scales are attached to the tang with Allen screws. Contoured and given machined grooves on each side ensure the most solid of grips in all weather conditions. The handle thins a bit as it reaches the butt end where it expands for the integral lanyard hole and attached lanyard. A forward guard keeps the index finger out of harm's way. The Nyala makes an outstanding camp knife for the novice or experienced outdoorsman. It's a great hunter, skinner and slicer.
