Chuck Hawes is well known for his unique traditional slip joint folding knives. He also makes high quality, custom fixed blades. This Recurve Skinner is made of W2 tool steel with a stylish Harmon line and polished and contoured, dyed bone handle scales. A perfect size for daily carry and a stunning piece for any collection.

Brand new directly from Chuck Hawes, USA.

Blade: With a drop point profile, the recurve W2 blade has a very shallow hollow grind for razor-like slicing while maintaining solid durability with plenty of belly for skinning and caping tasks. While being perfectly capable of heavy work the blade is finished with a custom Hamon traditionally seen on Japanese knives and swords. Custom file work on the spine pairs with the Hamon for a custom feel and unique style perfect for any collection.

Handle: Attached to the full tang blade with stainless steel pins the dyed bone handles have a striking, organic look and excellent feel thanks to the high polish finish and subtle contours. Comfortable in three- or four-finger grips this is a knife you can use extensively with minimal fatigue.

No sheath

W2 Tool Steel: W2 is a Water hardening tool steel popular with custom knife makers, beginners and seasoned experts alike. Maximum working hardness is in 63-65 HrC, W2 has good edge holding and cutting performance with a thin edge and moderate toughness depending on the heat treatment. High carbon, low chromium gives no added corrosion resistance. Maintain accordingly.
