Simple, functional, and tough as nails this knife is made for hunters, bushcrafters and other outdoor professionals that require a blade with peerless reliability. A classic integral knife design made from drop forged 52100 bearing steel, this Bowie is tough as nails with solid slicing performance. This version comes with a weatherproof black powder coating, faux stag scales and Secure-Ex sheath.

Brand New and direct from Cold Steel Knives.

Blade: Drop forged from high Carbon 52100 bearing steel the blade is heat treated to Rockwell hardness of 58-59 for exceptional toughness while still offering great cutting performance. The blade is tall with a full flat grind and tapers to the fine clip point delivering both slicing and piercing performance. Black powder coating provides corrosion resistance and protection against wear while still allowing the desirable properties of 52100 to shine through. This blade is tough, sharp and ready for serious use.

Handle: Being drop forged as a solid piece of 52100 the knife has an integral handle for a bomb-proof build. The ergonomic handle has an integral dual guard and offers a secure and comfortable grip with a negative angle for better ergonomics and faux stag scale slabs for a classic look. A generous hole is provided for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a Secure-Ex sheath with removable nylon drop loop.

52100 Carbon Steel: A high carbon steel (0.98-1.10) used primarily for ball bearings. Ball bearing steels traditionally have to withstand a great deal of force in a very small area. They make good blade steels because an edge also has to withstand much force in a small area. A very fine molecular structure permits very sharp edges, even at thin angles. Similar to 5160 with less toughness and better edge holding.
