The Survival Rescue Knife or SRK is standard issue for the Navy SEALs for their BUDs (Basic Underwater Demolition) training. The SRK Compact retains the same form that made the original SRK so popular while reducing the overall size and weight for a more concealable and easier to carry platform. As with the original, the SRK compact comes with a Black Tuff-Ex coated SK5 carbon steel blade and black Kray-Ex rubber handle.

Blade: With a 4 mm blade stock, the SRK compact is slimmer than the original while still being reliably robust and ready for serious use. A sub-5 inch blade length is easier to carry and conceal with a discreet matte black coating. The blade has plenty of capability thanks to the plain edge and saber grind and a spine swedge provides a fine point for piercing and detail work for added versatility.

Handle: Checkered Kray-Ex rubber wraps the tang of the knife delivering plenty of traction for a secure grip in even the most adverse conditions. An integral finger guard to protect the user's hand from the cutting edge in piercing tasks and heavy work. Kray-Ex rubber is lightweight, resistant to the elements and helps absorb strain from impacts. A hollow brass tube allows for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a Secure-Ex polymer sheath with detachable nylon belt loop.

SK5 Carbon Steel: A.K.A. W108, SK5 is a water hardening tool steel, used in knives, tools, and springs. SK5 is simple carbon steel like the 10XX series with higher alloy content for better performance. Care is required to prevent corrosion.
