Styled like the iconic big blades featured in Western TV shows and movies, the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie is an iconic American classic. The blade is made from 1090 Carbon Steel with a long, wide blade delivering a weight forward balance that pairs with the hollow saber grind and clip point false edge to deliver maximum cutting, chopping, and piercing power. The Rosewood scales attached to the full tang are executed in a classic profile and topped with the characteristic “S” patterned brass handguard to protect your fingers for general or martial use. A traditional black leather sheath with dangler belt loop and leather leg strap round out this truly American classic.

Blade: The Bowie-style blade has significant heft that can chop with a slicing, mid-height hollow grind and iconic clip point profile. The blade had plenty of belly for slicing cuts and with point for piercing. Made from high carbon steel that is just under 3/16 inch thick at the tang this Bowie is tough as nails.

Handle: The handle sports a full brass guard with dual rosewood slab handle scales attached to the full tang of the blade with brass flat head screws. A brass tube is provided for lanyard attachment.

Sheath: Carries via a stitched black leather belt sheath with drop loop and leg tie.

1090 High Carbon Tool Steel: Highly popular, simple carbon steel. Used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear due to low carbide content but very tough and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
