Developed and patented by Spyderco, the Compression Lock pairs an easy one-handed close with a rock-solid lockup. Working like an inverted liner lock on the handle spine, its leaf-spring bar wedges between the blade tang and a steel stop pin as the blade opens. Because any closing force only jams the bar tighter against that fixed pin, it stands among the strongest of the folding knife locks and shrugs off hard, relentless use.
