Designed by Jason Breeden, well known for his unusual and functional designs (Spyderco Rescue, TOPS Black Rhino, etc.) the Mountain Pass Carry Knife is a practical and well-built fixed blade to handle a variety of general cutting tasks. An atypical offset spine on the classic drop point blade allows for added leverage for powerful cuts despite the relatively compact size. The Mountain Pass Carry Knife has a Condor Classic hammer finished 440C stainless steel blade and natural canvas Micarta handle scales.
Brand new from Condor Tool & Knife.
Blade: A utilitarian drop point is delivered in 3.5 mm thick 440C stainless steel for solid performance and minimal maintenance. The blade has a satin finished saber grind with secondary v-bevel that is similar to a scandi grind in toughness while being easy to sharpen. An offset spine allows for comfort and added leverage during heavy use, while the Condor Classic hammered finish on the flats looks good over time, hiding wear from use.
Handle: Stainless Torx hardware attaches the natural canvas Micarta scales to the full tang over complementary red liners. Micarta delivers traction even when wet and is tough for hard use. An index choil provides added security in the grip, along with the coffin shaped pommel with lanyard hole.
Carries via a leather sheath with vertical/horizontal belt loop.
440C Stainless Steel: The basis for many modern steels, AISI 440C offers a good balance of corrosion resistance and edge retention with relative ease of sharpening. Good all around budget stainless steel.
