The CRKT Mossback Hunter is one you'll want with you on your next hunting adventure! Designed by knife maker Tom Krein with superb functionality in mind, the Mossback Hunter is small enough to be easily manuevered, yet large enough to tackle just about any North American game. Features a traditional drop point blade and palm filling handle for comfort during extended use. Brand new directly from CRKT. 

The Blade: Full tang SK5 high carbon steel construction lends way to the simple lines of the drop point blade.  Full black powder coat gives the knife a non-reflective finish while also protecting the steel against corrosives, such as humidity, water and blood. Jimping along the thumb rests adds control for more detailed tasks. 

The Handle: Durable black and gray G10 handle scales are affixed to the tang via a solid pin and hollow lanyard hole tube. Very lightly textured with contoured shaping for in hand comfort and control. Integral partial guard keeps fingers from slipping onto the sharp blade edge.

The Sheath: Includes a traditional nylon belt sheath with plastic insert.  

About SK5 Steel: There are many forms of steel that knives and tools are made with. The SK-5 high carbon steel blade is of the highest quality for making blades. It is the Japanese equivalent to American 1080. It is hard steel that makes it create high quality blades and tools. Sk5 high carbon steel gives a knife the ability to cut through practically anything. It is very tough steel. It has a hardness of Rc 65. It produces a mixture of carbon rich martinsite with a few un-dissolved carbides. This steel is essential to creating the perfect blades for your use. The extra carbide will increase the abrasion resistance and lets the steel attain an ideal balance of good blade toughness. It also gives excellent edge binding ability.
