Details
The CRKT Nirk Tighe 2 is a smaller, more compact version of the original Nirk Tighe designed by the brilliant minds of Glen Klecker and Brian Tighe. Klecker designed a NIRK folder and Brian Tighe asked Glenn if he could possibly try the same design using a CNC machine. From this, the custom Nirk Tighe was born of titanium and a high end stainless steel blade. The design won most innovative at the 2010 BLADE Show in Atlanta. CRKT is now producing a more affordable version of this very popular design, using materials such as 420J2 stainless steel for the frame and AUS-8 stainless for the blade. The frame is stamped from a single piece of 420J2 stainless steel and then coated in blue titanium nitride to help prevent corrosion. The exterior of the frame is then satin polished, leaving the inside a deep blue and giving the knife a very unique finish. The design of the handle also offers a very comfortable grip with two large finger notches and an integral lockbar. The blade is manufactured of AUS-8 stainless steel and includes a flipper for easy opening. The blade features a special caged mini ball bearing system for super smooth opening action. Includes a stainless steel clothing/gear clip that is removable.
