Is it a balisong or is it a higonokami? Well, the D Rocket Design Oval Half Moon is a bit of both. A magnetic latching handle houses a simple, chisel ground Sheepsfoot blade and open similarly to a balisong with the handle sections rotating from the pivot on the same plane as the blade. The minimalist design is solid, simple, fun and functional and makes an ideal option for urban or office carry. This version comes with a CNC milled, blasted matte gray M390 blade and textured green aluminum handles.

Blade: Blasted gray CNC machined M390 stainless steel is delivered in a robust Sheepsfoot profile, chisel ground for easy sharpening and excellent slicing performance. A great utility profile the rounded tip of the Sheepsfoot is safer in use while the chisel grind allows a flush fit to the rear handle for added safety in carry and operation. An internal blade stop means the blade is very solid in the open position, able to take significant spine pressure while gripping the handle, while maintaining a non-locking construction.

Handle: Two slabs of solid aluminum are milled to house the blade and rotate smoothly around a shared pivot for easy operation. Magnets in the ends help secure the handles in open and closed positions and deliver a tactile and auditory signal that the handle is in operation. This version comes with milled texture front and back and an oval through hole providing traction for operation and use.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
