Enrique Pena is known for his remarkable fit, finish and function as well as the blending of traditional and tactical in his designs. This Pena Custom Barlow Front Flipper is no exception. The hand rubbed satin finished CPM-154 blade is razor sharp, perfectly centered and super smooth with a modern, titanium liner construction. The handles call back to the old time slip joints but are made with handsome Micarta composite: black burlap bolsters and crosscut blood orange canvas for the scales with contrasting black liners and a satin finished shield.

Blade: A classic clip point profile blade is made from premium, American CPM-154 stainless with a hand-rubbed horizontal satin finish and a razor edge. For piecing and fine work the top swedge delivers a nice taper to the point while the high height hollow grind offers great slicing performance. Jimping on the spine enhances traction and extends to the streamline, front flipper tab which offers ambidextrous operation. Riding on caged stainless bearings, the blade deploys with smooth operation and has a well dialed in detent which for decisive flipper deployment.

Handle: Modern and clean in form and function, the frame of the handle is formed by two thick satin finished titanium liners. One of these liners also forms the liner locking mechanism which provides solid, secure lock up along with smooth operation. Giving the Barlow a timeless appearance, the scales and back spacer are made from Blood Orange Crosscut Micarta with black Burlap bolsters all offset with black liner material. The knife is finished off with satin titanium hardware and a brushed stainless steel shield on the show side.

CPM-154: CPM-154 is a particle metallurgy version of 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process providing it with an increase in toughness and easy of finishing. CPM-154 takes a very fine edge and is highly corrosion resistant. Edge retention is going to be on-par with CPM S30V while being easier to resharpen. A great all-around blade steel.
