Enrique Pena is known for his remarkable fit, finish and function as well as the blending of traditional and tactical in his designs. This Pena Custom Zulu Slip Joint is no exception. The hand rubbed satin finished CPM-154 blade is razor sharp, perfectly centered and exhibits superb walk and talk. The handles are inspired by classic slip joints with satin stainless bolsters and shield and made with handsome and rugged custom Rag Micarta composite.
Brand new, direct from the maker.
Blade: The blade of this folder has a hand rubbed satin finish, finely sharpened edge and flawless grinds. A generous nail nick is present for opening with a solid, flush half stop with a decisive snap opening and closing the Zulu spear point blade. A high hollow grind and top swedge deliver exceptional performance.
Handle: Unlike most slip joint knives, the bolster and liner of this knife are milled from one solid piece of stainless steel resulting in a clean look with no visible pivot pin in the middle of the bolster. Pena chose a gorgeous looking custom Rag Micarta for the handle scales and gave all the stainless hardware a handsome satin finish to match the blade including the shield mounted on the display side of the handle.
CPM-154: CPM-154 is a particle metallurgy version of 154CM that benefits from the refinement in the PM process providing it with an increase in toughness and easy of finishing. CPM-154 takes a very fine edge and is highly corrosion resistant. Edge retention is going to be on-par with CPM S30V while being easier to resharpen. A great all-around blade steel.
