ESEE Gibson Axe Tumbled Black Oxide 1095

The ESEE outdoors line gets another great design from outdoor enthusiast James Gibson in the Carving Axe. It sports a similar style as the PR4 with black stonewashed finished 1095 high carbon tool steel and sculpted brown canvas Micarta handle scales making them a great outdoor Bushcraft pairing.

Blade: Thick 1095 high carbon steel features durable full tang construction and a shaving sharp cutting edge. A generous cutout near the head allows for a close grip needed for fine, controlled work done when carving. The steel has a dark tumbled black oxide finish for hiding wear and tear on the surface. The robust, full tang construction of the axe makes it very durable and it will surly excel at wood processing and other camp chores as well. This steel will need to be cared for to prevent corrosion and will re-sharpen easily in the field.

Handle: There is a comfortable and palm-filling handle on this one. ESEE bolted dark brown Micarta handle scales to the tang after being sculpted and lightly coated for added durability. The sculpted divots mean there's always a spot for a finger in any grip for added security. A generous hole in the end of the handle allows for lanyard attachment for added security.
