Designer Shane Adams created the Pinhoti friction folder to provide the same rugged reliability of an ESEE fixed blade in a more carry friendly folding design. Friction folders are simple, typically consisting of just the blade, handle and pivot hardware, making them more hardy than more complex modern folding knives. Blade: The Scandi ground drop point blade comes with a tumbled black oxide finish on the flats with satin grinds and a 90 degree spine for ferro rod striking. This blade was built for bushcraft and handles a variety of woodworking tasks with ease while being more compact to carry. ESEE 1095 carbon steel is field tested capable and takes a razor sharp edge with ease and is easy to maintain in the field. Rotate the blade tang to open or close this non-locking friction folder.

Handle: Sculpted natural brown canvas Micarta handle scales are contoured to fill the hand for ergonomic comfort during prolonged use while offering excellent traction in wet and dry conditions thanks to the milled texture. The handle is equipped with a hole for lanyard attachment and has the feel of an heirloom quality tool that will get better with age.

Carries via a leather taco-style belt sheath.

1095 Carbon Steel: A popular, simple carbon steel, 1095 is used extensively by both production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear resistance and easy to sharpen. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care.
