The perennial favorite Exotac fireROD gets an upgrade in both size and functionality in the fireROD XL. An extra large replaceable ferrocerium rod is attached to an O-ring sealed waterproof 6061 aluminum tinder capsule, keeping your fire making kit dry and ready.
The replaceable 1/2" thick rod burns at nearly 5550 degrees Fahrenheit and even works when wet. The tinder capsule houses the included quickLIGHT dry-treated cotton tinder bundles (4), is wrapped in black repair tape, which has a variety of uses including being a flammable tinder and has an attached paracord lanyard. An ideal pairing with your bushcraft knife or outdoor emergency kit. This version is anodized classic orange.
